Rocketdog Report Week 2

 The Rocketdog Report
Week 2

We've barely finished Week 2 and there's already a lot going on in the NFL and in the AWFFL.  Accusations of a rigged league due to a waiver glitch.  Three undefeated teams, three completely defeated teams and eight teams split down the middle at 1-1.  Remember it's the Division Leaders and the next three top teams that make it to the Championship Playoffs.  Two brothers, three ladies and yours truly are sitting in the Winners Bracket but it's very early in the season and unless you go on vacation, your team is still competitively in the race for the Winners Bracket!

Division Leaders

The AWFFL is led by a Dog, a Bunny and a Raider Cheerleader

In the Las Vegas Division - Rocketdog 22 takes the top spot at 2-0 and 271.86 season points.

If you want to be the best you have to beat the best.  Week 1 Division Leader, Leah's Boyfriend might have been lucky against Leah's Tio but in Week 2 it was Leah's Uncle (Rocketdog 22) who returned the favor with 156.28 points to a defeat the BF's weak 104.40 points.  To break through 150 points, you need a team that has a lot of top performances but for the second week it was the Defense that shined with 37.40 points.

In the Oakland Division - Raider Bunny stays at the top at 2-0 and 213.76 season points.

Once again, to be the best you have to beat the best and this was a showdown between the top team in the Oakland Division vs the top team in the Los Angeles Division.  The Raiderettes strong performance in Week 1 was buried in the rabbit hole but not too deep.  Raider Bunny just hopped by with a 110.50 to 108.62 victory.  A win is a win and the taste of victory is becoming a habit for the Bunny.

In the Los Angeles Division - Raiderettes may have dropped to 1-1 but still keeps the top spot in LA with 254.72 season points.

Each week counts, every point counts and in LA, no one is safe.  Every team is 1-1 and even the last place team is only 25 total points from the top spot. "Winning takes precedence over all.  There's no gray area. No almosts." - Kobe Bryant.

Top Player of the Season

44.50 Player Points.  The candidate for Player of the Season stays the same.  No one was able to top the Week 1 performance from Tyreek Hill, so the Proud Mom can stay proud that her player is still #1.

The Surprises, Underdogs and Big Performances

We're starting to see just how well the players prepared for the season, and there's been a big trend of injuries showing up in Week 2 but the biggest surprise came from The Proud Mom.
Does this team get a pass because of a vacation?
I remember a long group text talking about consequences for team that do not play.
Yes, injuries hit the Proud Mom hard but the team went into Week 2 against Snoopy n the Gang with three key players missing from her roster.  The starting QB spot was left empty, even though there were two QB's sitting on the bench.  An injured RB1 and an injured Flex player were left in as Starters.  Three Starters with zero points, Snoopy was never worried he would lose.
This is Season 16 of the AWFFL.  Are there any excuses?

Underdogs Stand Up!
Straight Up was the underdog and supposed to lose to Darth Raider 106.06 to 109.28.  Injuries hit Straight Up hard but a solid performance from his QB and WR's led him to a 145.14 to 98.92 victory!  We'll continue to follow the dark path of Darth Raider (Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate.  Hate leads to suffering).  But watch out for Straight Up.  Once he figures out the RB spots, this team is looking like a Mama Chavela contender!

Both teams were looking for that first win and Blade came in as the underdog to Waka Flacco Flame, predicted to lose 115.83 to 120.91.  Don't call it a comeback, he's been here for years.  Blade may have been the Week 2 underdog but the Blade was sharpened for a 120.00 to 116.30 victory over the diminishing Flame.

In case you didn't know, Raider Bunny was the underdog and was supposed to lose to Raiderettes, 91.58 to 109.96.  Supposed to.

Amandas Boyfriend vs. Robbin Dubs was supposed to be a close game and Robbin was likely very happy with his overachieving Rams WR's 30.10 points.  However, Amandas Boyfriend must have had one of those "Remember the Titans" speeches for his team, because every where he goes, people want to know, who he is, so he tells them, he is amandas boyfriend and he won 146.96 to 115.24

What's one bad thing about having an outstanding week?
Playing one of the few teams that had an even more outstanding week.
Starbucks Addict ordered a Venti sized triple espresso game and her team delivered 139.14 ounces.
The problem is that her opponent was Gill Dos Ocho who showed up with a Super Big Gulp game with 147.58 ounces!

Disappointments

#1 The AWFFL should be disappointed with the Proud Mom.
#2 The ladies of the AWFFL are high performers and ranked in the top 6 of the league but Proud Mom is currently representing the ladies ranked at the bottom at 14th and 0-2.

On the bright side.  Nani ka Hawaii

The Fan Report

The Cowboys and Eagles both won and improved to 2-0
The Raiders did not "Just Win Baby" and drop to 1-1 but are still are listed as the top team in the AFC West.
